    Hey,
everyone I know who has got a place in any UAL did art foundation beforehand. I looked on their website at the courses I'm thinking of and they do mention art foundation but I'm unsure as to whether it is a definite requirement.
Does anyone know if you have to do art foundation to get into UAL?
I hope this isn't a real stupid question

You may not have to have it, but any course that is mentioned on a university website as desirable is going to carry significant advantages. The vast majority of the top rated art schools will expect their applicants to have done a foundation course and the playing field is not level for you if you haven't. An art foundation makes you much more professional and is specifically designed to create a portfolio targeted at a particular aspect of art. As it's free to the under 19s, there isn't much argument for not doing one if you want to stand an equal chance with those who have.
