I'm the kind of person who will always hold the door for someone else and when both standing at a door way I'll insist the other person go first even if they tell me I can.
But Today I was called selfish for turning down their hospitality, am I really?

No you're not selfish but you just happen to turn down the wrong person/people. Anyway, why are you taking this personally to heart?

No, you're not selfish at all. They're just self-absorbed if they see themselves as being hospitable and getting offended when people don't do what they say. Don't let it get to you at all.

No you don't sound selfish. Don't worry about it.
