# factorization watch

1. Hi

I'm stuck on this: how do I factorize

(3x - 2)2 - (4x +1)2

(3x - 2)(3x - 2) - (4x + 1)(4x + 1)

but then what?

Thanks
2. Do you know about the difference of 2 squares?

.

expand, regroup and refactorize or factorize straight away as a difference of squares
4. This is for my 14-year old daughter,

I am not sure if you mean

(3x-2-4x-1)(3x-2+4x+1)

(-x-3)(7x-1)

Is that it?

UPDATE

Yes it is! I've chcked assigning numbers to x

many thanks. Over and out!
