I'm studying... Hi I am currently applying for sixth forms however I am not entirely sure of what subjects that I should choose. I want to have a balance between well respected subjects and also subjects that are not particularly hard.

I have made my mind up on two of the options that I am definitely choosing which are Economics and English lit.
I am indecisive on my next two options however. I feel like I would enjoy sociology, however I think it is seen as a soft subject? Also I feel the same way about GovPol, the other options that I wouldent mind doing but are not my first choice would be religious education and geography although I would rather sociology and GovPol but I am afraid that they are not perceived as strong enough a levels?

What do you think I should choose in order to achieve the best grades and also have a strong university application.

    My study level is... AS-level

Well what university course would you consider applying to? It's worth checking out course websites to see which A levels they like seeing.

For the best grades I think it's worth picking subjects that are fairly similar, but that's because I do science and maths so it's different.

I'd choose your other 2 by the work-load. And the universities do seem to care about the hard and soft subjects thing a bit but it's more important that you enjoy it (and end up getting a better grade).
