As the title states, take a screenshot of your working environment as it is right now. I'll go first.

Unless you appear in TRON, that isn't a screenshot of your working environment.

Is that what your working environment looks like inside the matrix?

What makes you say that? A couple of guys I sit near in the office usually have something very similar up.

This is the medium they work with. Their environment is the space they work in physically.

"Environment" is a well-defined term in the context of IT and computing (easily inferred from the location of the thread) that refers specifically to a context within a system in which something works (and that something can be a user). The description of what's in the screenshot as a working environment is entirely correct.

See: Desktop environment; integrated development environment; command line environment.

    Pedantry fail.

Yea get out our basement !
I'd post my environment but windows 7 and visual studio won't win me too many geek points. Need some green text on a black shell no apple though - that's instant disqualification.

It's not that exciting to be honest, just the front end to a DB2 database. Bit of a mare to programme too.

I love vintage computers. I own a BBC and an Acorn. How much did it cost if you don't mind me asking?

Its not vintage lol. Brand new system that. Its running the ERP system for one of the businesses I do support for. Think it was in the region of 20k ish. I'd have to look at the capex.

Is pretty much what it looks like.

I hate that so much. It's such a pain.

Although in fairness old mainframes like that are solid. They just never crash.

    List X. No cameras allowed.

I could draw a crappy sketch. Two 24" HP monitors, a Microsoft ergonomic 4000 keyboard, nice logitech gx300 mouse. Files and in tray full of crap.
