i guess it ****s up your insides. i think you should stop! bad business that is. try doing exercises or eating healthier.

Bringing the food you've eaten back up is as bad as not eating. The best way to loose weight is to have a balanced diet and to exercise more. Making you're self sick could lead onto an eating disorder, which isn't something you'd really want.

Aside from the obvious psychological components - it's an unhealthy relationship with food and can easily deteriorate into an ED, there are various physical problems.

Firstly, your breath will ming. You'll get acid erosion on your teeth, which is not attractive. You run a risk of bleeding in your stomach/oesophagus, which can be very serious. Obviously if you're not getting enough food then you'll get nutrient deficiencies. Long term, it will upset the acid-base balance of your body which can cause all sorts of problems. It can lead to heart failure and ultimately death if taken too far.

It may surprise you to learn that bile isn't really conducive to good dental health.

Reply 5

I don't know all the bad effects, but you'll end up malnourished and then if you do lose weight you'll just put it straight back on.

Reply 6

Your teeth can actually fall out. The lining of your throat will sting/blister from the acid in the sick.

where do you want to start? risks are large. Making yourself sick can develop into a pattern of behaviour and is in some ways an addiction. It damages the throat and causes bad stomach pains and problems with the digestive system in general. Making yourself sick is no way to lose weight. You have said yourself you aren't fat. If you are determined to lose weight do it healthier, by diet and exercise. It will be much easier to maintain your weight loss if you do it this way because as soon as you stop making yourself sick you will start to gain any weight you have lost. Set yourself a sensible weight target as well, or an amount of weight you want to lose (within reason) because that way you know what you are aiming for.

If you cannot stop making yourself sick then please for your sake speak to someone, a dr, or a helpline or someone to help you because it can become such a serious illness. I hope you are ok :hugs:

You really need to stop doing that like now, feeling fat and actually being fat are two very different things, i would suggest seeking help because otherwise the problem is just going to get bigger.

This thread is, on reflection, actually quite pathetic.

Right up to a full on Boerhave's (we've got one at the moment - and they're still alive!)

You're going to get worse if you make yourself sick on purpose. Easy way to get headaches and invite other illnesses in.
If you want to lose weight, do it normally - exercise and healthier eating.

there are many many bad things as have been mentioned, you also risk screwing up your metabolism permentley.

^kam is right, only by eating healthily and doing exercise will you lose weight without damaging your body. by vomiting you are making yourself more likely to develop an ED and if that gets out of control you could DIE.

and if that gets out of control you could DIE.

ROFLMAO

Slightly melodramatic?

You ruin your insides, get smelly breath, the acid in your stomach could damage your teeth. You do lose weight dramatically, I use to make myself sick alot but it was so dangerous how much I weight lost in such a short time! I regret doing it because i felt ill constantly and my tummy use to hurt everytime i did it!
I would not advise this what so ever! The best way to lose weight is exercise and a good diet! Please stop making yourself sick its not healthy!

Reply 15

Even if you were incredibly desperate to lose weight ASAP, a low calorie ketogenic diet would result in much faster lipolysis than making yourself vomit.

I make myself sick as well.
It's not like i over eat then feel the need to get rid of it, i eat as little as i can throughout the day, maybe one piece of toast, or nothing at all. Then at around 6pm i'll have my one and only meal and then i feel as though i have sullied my body by eating and i make myself sick.

I will say the same to you as the original poster, you need to seek some help because what you are doing is destroying your insides, if you eat 3 meals a day and exercise regulary you will be perfectly healthy.

Reply 18

ahh its worriying to read that. its clearly damaging to your health why do you do it?

Reply 19

There's so many reasons why people do it, Peer pressure, petty name calling, wanting to be like the super slim models you hear about, and worse there has been websites promoting people to do this sort of thing.
