    I use a pair of scissors I got for £4 from Sainsbury's. They work just fine.

    How long is your beard? For up to 5mm, I would echo the Babyliss iStubble but as the name suggests it may be too short if you have a proper beard. It's not exactly cheap but it's good value - mine is still going like new after two years. I use 3mm and it works well at keeping it all the same length if you're going for that 'designer stubble' look - I noticed with the cheaper ones that it was difficult to get an even length all over.
