Hi, just wondered if somebody could check my working out for this question
The bond force constant, k, of HBr is 289 N m^-1. Find a value for the zero point energy. (the previous questions we about vibration energies)
I calculated the reduced mass which I got to be 79/80, then divided by 6.02x10^23 to get 1.64 x 10^-24
then used Vosc = 1/2pi * sqrt (289/1.64 x 10^-24) = 2.11 x 10^12
then E(v) = 1/2 x 6.62607 x 10^-34 x 2.11 x 10^12 = 7.00 x 10^-46
