Am I mad or do alot of people also think about this???

I have currently gt a friend who really likes me, and i also like her. But when i go to bed i always dream about her getting hurt or her crying.

The dream always ends with me rescuing her and comforting her. sometimes i wish it really happens so i can show her how caring i am.

Is this weird? or do alot of people also have these types of images.

any comments will be helpful as i feel like a bit of a freak right now.

Yeah I think most people do do that. It's normal so don't feel like a freak. I think it just means you like her.
i have similar dreams in which my friends hurt themselves or die.

the difference is i'm always too late to do anything about it and i always wake up crying because i failed.

Death in dreams isn't always a bad thing. Death could be akin to re-birth/regeneration.

but these dream are like really regular.

just a minute ago i had a thought of sumone snatching her purse and running off..she was in tears..and guess what? i was there to hug her and comfort her.

should i seek help?..its nt really affecting my life as i am doing well in school and stuff. its just that i was thinking if these feelings are normal.

No need to seek help cos it's normal.
I do it.

I think it's usual (I have a guy friend who is constantly having nightmares and implausible paranoid daydreams about awful stuff happening to his g/f), but possibly not healthy if it happens all the time.

People think about random things like that all the time.
Unless you think about it so much that it seriously interferes with your normal life, there is no cause for concern.

It's the classic "damsel in distress" syndrome

I think up random situations all the time like that, I think it's just you wanting the oppourtunity to show her what type of person you are, when telling her you'd do those kinds of things would seem weird or pretentious.

I do this too sometimes, repressed superhero feelings from childhood perhaps

I do it, all the time. It's bizarre, but harmless. Normal? I dunno. But harmless.

This is where my case differs from the OP's. This happens to me about all of my friends and some of my family.

my ex boyfriend once told me that he had a dream that there was a massive war going on in my town and he ran all the way from where he lives to rescue me, it did get a bit wierder than that, but I was flattered that he wanted to rescue me!

er i've never had a dream like that, mind you its very unlikely girls rescue guys. well its not, but you know what i mean..?!

for me, dreams have never even come close to true, thats why i leave dreams as dreams and reality to reality. i don't think its weird, but don't build your hope up on it, at the end of the day you're just getting a taste of your feelings..
