My Flatmates are leaving me! watch

    • Thread Starter

I'm a fresher at University and all my flatmates are dropping out of Uni for various reasons and I have a flat all to myself!

I've been good friends with these people from the start of Uni and although I know other people from my course and societies, I don't know them or their flatmates well enough to go out with them or hang around with them a as much as I do with my flatmates.

I'm quite nervous and scared about my flatmates leaving as I don't really know to many other people and I'm quite a shy and introverted person. I'm now starting to feel isolated and flat-bound! I can't exactly go on nights out on my own and feel bad tagging along with other people who are out with their own flat!

This isn't how I imagined University!

Can anybody help me or has been in a similar situation!

    Advertise your flat

Have you been left to pay the whole of the rent by yourself?

Assuming you don't a joint liability for the flat it's not your responsibility to advertise for new flatmates. Throw yourself into your studies and/or societies and you'll end up spending time with people with similar interests. I wouldn't worry about being by yourself - there are plenty of people out there with terrible flatmates who would love to be in your position!
Do you agree with the PM's proposal to cut tuition fees for some courses?
