    Hey,

I was wondering if anyone knew how Lloyds handles a student account after you finish your last year? I know they do Graduate accounts but you have to prove you're a graduate with the certificate, which I don't think I get until September this year but I finish uni in May. Does Lloyds put your account straight into a normal current account? I need to know because of my overdraft, as, if they put it as a normal current, I'll hav to start paying I believe.

    Thanks

Most banks will automatically switch student to graduate accounts. They should contact you towards the end of the academic yeat to confirm the transfer.

How much is your overdraft? If it's only £500 or less then you pay less than £10 per month on the regular account.

I'm planning to have it under £500 by the end of uni, hopefully I'll be completely out but just wanting to know in case something happens.

    Thanks to both replies though

Just wanted to let you know that I graduated last summer and one day I happened to log in and see that my Student account had changed its name to Graduate. I did nothing and, as far as I know, my parents weren't involved either!

As to overdraft, I was out of my overdraft by the time I graduated, but think some universities give you a set period to time to try to pay it off before they start charging..?

Do you agree with the PM's proposal to cut tuition fees for some courses?
