Good Luck, what are your predicted grades, and how did you do in your entrance exam?

Predicted grades: All A*s except Physics and Spanish (I did Biology and Chemistry a year early; 2 A*s). I really think I did badly on the admissions tests.

I picked Maths, History, Economics and Politics.

We'll see how my interview goes.
Thank you for wishing me luck. I think I will definitely need divine intervention.

You were able to do your Chemistry and Biology early? our school said that the new rules don't allow us to be able to do that :frown:, all together I have over 25 exams at the end of year 11 now. So annoying.

What choice is harris Westminster? 1st, second...?

Believe me, think clearly and don't get effected by nerves; and you will be fine. unlike me...

1st choice.
I know we were lucky. Thank God. Yeah we learnt all 4 units of biology and chemistry in 2 years. I assure you it was difficult and stressful.

I will try. It's easier said than done.

My interview went so bad, it started of as "Hello, why do you like maths?", that went nicely, I ripped through that question. Then he asked me what topic he should question me on, as stupid and nervous as I was, I simply said "Differentiation", the worst topic in Maths (That's the topic I am worst at, I was nervous to the point I said what came in my mind, which was that). Then he asked a question easier than the topic I chose, and I still got it wrong. First I did a completely stupid observational mistake which he pointed out, then he made the next step obvious, so I know what to do next. Then I got stuck again, where then he said one word and I figured out what to do. Then I used the wrong equation but then corrected myself before he can. Then I got stuck again, where he cleared it up, I did the calculation and got the answer. Done, then he said "well, times up, that's the interview over" and he stood up and escorted me out of the building. I am actually screwed.

the interview is not based on whether you get the question right or wrong, although it may be better if you ace the question. Anyway's, apparently its designed to test your thinking and by the sounds of it you done pretty well, they weren't expecting an interview pro at this stage as its the first one for many. Personally I'm counting on the interview as my predicted grades do not reflect my academic potential(few A's, and a few B's and one terrible one for German,), exceeded most of them in my recent mocks, I felt like i aced the entrance tests but to secure an offer i may have to rip this interview, judging I receive one.
also, i read through their prospectus and it doesn't mention predicted grades, however it says that offers will be made conditional on GCSE performance. So had they offered you a place, are they able to rebuke it from you had you not received the conditional? I've scraped it with my predicted grades with As in my preferred A-level choices and atleast 6 A*-Bs, bound to achieve/exceed so, come August.

They give you an offer, if you don't meet it, depending on the amount of people who met the offer or left for another school, they might or might not let you in, but its normally around the offer.

Well Good luck mate. Judging by your message, did you not get an interview? they sent all the interview letters, call them, they might've not sent you an email accidently. that's what happened to my friend, he got an interview but didn't get an email, he had to call them yesterday to find out.

thanks for the luck! I'm a late applicant, I done my entrance tests less than a week ago. Hoping for a positive reply sooner rather than later.

I don't know if I count as a late applicant, but me and my friend, who got his interview by calling them, did our tests on the 31st instead of the 24th of January.

No triple. Four units in each science.
I'm freaking out now I always do badly under pressure and scrutiny :frown: and I didn't answer half the questions on my admissions exams. I just hope the fact that I already have a few GCSEs which I did last year will carry me through.

4 units!? this is the first time I ever heard 4 units for one science. Wow.
