I only want to go to LSE

i got AAAB an will be predicted AAAa but in my gcse i F***d about so i got 3A*5A2B. Even If i get AAAa I would only have 420 points yet it says in sunday times that average intake for LSE is 467. So will I be treated equally. Also will they take into account that I am doing CHEM MATHS N BIO, not some easier subjects.
- If I wanna get in so badly is it worth applying for 3 different courses there, or would each application no be taken as seriously compared to if I applied to them once.
- will all the experience in investment banking, many county sports, and MD +winner of regional Young Enterprise, + online biz and my grades,so wat are my realistic chances of gettin in anyway.

I dont think youd get onto straight eco but youd have a reasonable chance at anything else. Whats so great about LSE anyway? With those grades why didnt you apply before to cambridge or something?

Of course all the extra currics will help, its just LSE are pretty stringent about academia. Also most people going to LSE wont be doing easy subjects lol.

Why only LSE?
Because he wants money, its the only real reason

LSE really isnt very special. In fact apart from its prestige it really is quite poor.

Cramp, poor facilities, and isnt exactly full of the most sociable people.
The only problem is that LSE place alot of emphasis on gcse's (probably more so than AS). They definenty want more a*'s than a's and a B can hinder your chances severely and though your gcse's are good, they arent upto scratch for LSE. However, the admissions tutor told me that the ultimate key to LSE econ is conveying a real true passion for the subject in the personal statement, and that this is where so many high calibre applicants fail, because they believe having the grades is enough to make up for other areas (and this is where the myth of needing 26a*+ to get into LSE comes from!).

its not just money tho is it coz most stockbrokers on 200+ haven't even been to uni, its about the opportunity but above all because LSE's area is top notch.

LSE people are really social and the SU has the biggest student night in London!

I love it personally, it's small but in terms of the academics and the people, it's absolutely fantastic.
my friend has 4a* 4a 1b 1c @ gcse and he recieved an offer. even people at LSE cannot be sure what the major criteria is for there courses. just ensure you have a brilliant personal statement. because you cannot do much else about your grades.

I wouldnt read too much into Crush because its at LSE and simply is an event that everyone goes to. What i do hate to an extent, something which ive always disliked, is when people self segregate. I can understand in the first week where people may find it easier to make friends with people from their country, but now its just completely unnecessary. Yes, birds of a feather flock together, but why? Maybe its something thatll get better as the year progresses however. Or maybe its just me coming from a predominantly middle class grammar school where this type of thing didnt exist

Id agree however, that academically it is great and that the international nature of the school makes talking to people very interesting.
I can't say I've noticed any segregation. I'm black and most of my friends at LSE are not (just given the numbers!). The only groups of people I see together in a self-segregating way are foreign students who don't speak English well so they talk to other friends who speak their native tongue.

this previous week I was working with my uncle at barclays stockbrokers and we went to lse at night, and the area seems to always b buzzing. One huge misconception which I had was that they would all be foreign which wasn't really the case and also there were a ridiculous number of good looking girls lol. But a word of advice I was given was as an Iranian don't hang around in the segregated group of asians becasue you alienate yourself from the europeans. Is this the case?
who said those girls belong to lse. Loads of people go to crush from other UoL colleges.
Doesn't matter where they belong...they're at LSE every Friday night! Besides, he didn't say he went to LSE on Friday night, just "at night."

Anyway I know I'm a girl but I see lots of pretty girls at LSE. I think there's more female talent than male tbh!

It's one of the smallest uni's (by number of students) around, so you can see why people complain about the lack of 'talent'. Also, they do accept a huge percentage of international student - but I guess that's multicultural London. You can pretty much expect a high proportion of foreigners in UCL, SOAS etc. aswell.

also on wed daytime I went to LSE to ask some questions to the undergrad people, and at that time there were also a ridiculous amount of not just good looking but quite a few stunning students. So would they have been LSE?
if they were there in day, most likely. I really don't think you should base your uni choices on % of hot girls seen on open days though.

shady lane is that u in your pic?
haha. i disbelieve LSE has LOTS of talent, maybe a few, but not many. i would say kings, ucl, soas and to an extent queen mary have major talent in terms of females.

I thought crush was only open on fridays?

Also, in the upstairs dance floor "if you're from lse say yeahhhhh" *small yeah*
"if you're from UCL say yeahhhh
*YEAH*
(can't rmb if he did or response to other UoL colleges :P)

That pretty much sums up Lse at Crush =). However its a cheap place to go, people move on, just like people go to vodka island this year etc.
