i am currently doing a foundation year in science and technology at a university, however i would like to go to a different university, to study either computer science, biology, biochemistry or geology although i havent decided. would it be possible for me to transfer university and if so what would happen with student finance. could i apply through clearing as well? my course finishes in april and i have to send my PS off with a reference by 15th januay

to be honest as well, i have no idea what to study but i have to go to university. I want to study someting useful, enjoyable and will get me a decent job and that i have deep passion for. i am never fully interested in anything or deeply passionate about anything either. i used to be passionate about science. but during a levels i lost that passion and got lazy and wasnt as interesting anymore. Most of my teachers left during a levels and the new ones didnt teach science with passion and didnt make it interesting.

Anyway i need urgent help with my questions and what degree choices would be right for me. Thank you in advance for reading my long post and choosing to help me.

As you don't know what you want to do there's really no way you can apply by tomorrow. You'll therefore either be making a late application, or could apply after June 30th and just use Clearing. So use the extra time to look into degrees and see what interests you. It doesn't matter about your previous school teachers as they won't be teaching you now, so try to forget about their influence.

As you're doing a science foundation course you should hopefully have found topics which interest you more than others. If not, you should have found ones that you really can't stand! Write a list of what you like and hate and our should start to narrow things down.

You need to apply for student finance, but you can change details if you're not sure where you'll end up. Fill it in with whatever is most likely, and then change it later if necessary.

Thank you for replying to my thread and answering my questions. I have applied for computer science because i would be able to get into better uni's and it may be the only course i am able to do in my current situation but i am also interested Biology and biochemistry however i wasnt able to be offered a place in biology since i didnt do well enough in my a levels plus that and my foundation year is mainly about Science and technology, which is more computer orientated and doesnt have enough scientific content in it. I might be able to get into slighlty lower univerities but even then i doubt it. I partially blame my teachers, but your right i should forget about them. currently i'm in university but if i do end up going to a different uni, since my course finishes in april how would i go about student finance because i already have a student finance account
