# inequalities watch

1. Please can someone explain how to solve this inequality:

3t+ 1 < t + 12
2. Do you know how to solve 3t+1=t+12?
3. So 2t<11 (-1-t)
Then you could get it to t<5.5 (/2)
Is that all you need? With inequalities you can treat them like equations so you can perform operations on them with both sides being affected in the same way

Please can someone explain how to solve this inequality:

3t+ 1 < t + 12
Just substitute the sign with an equal sign and solve that like a normal equation. In the end though just replace the equal sign with the sign given.

Edit: 3t+1=t+12
(-1)

3t=t+11
(-t)
2t=11
t=11/2

change the equal sign to < so the answer will <11/2. I would like to think my answer is correct.

Please can someone explain how to solve this inequality:

3t+ 1 < t + 12
I think the final answer should be 11/2.

You should use Mathswatch-there are plenty tutorials for maths there that even cover inequalities and the whole maths sulabuss.

Please can someone explain how to solve this inequality:

3t+ 1 < t + 12
First subtract 1 from both sides so there is no constant term on the LHS.

Then subtract t from both sides so there is no t term on the RHS.

Now you have something straightforward to solve.
8. Thank you very much
