Hey, I'm really stuck on what to say about improvements for this experiment, I need two... They need to be improvements about the method, so here it is...
1) Make a paste of mung beans by using a pestle and mortar and placing two mung beans and 1cm^3 water inside.
2) Apply this paste to filter paper discs, cut out by a hole punch
3) Place each disc with the mung bean paste on into a specimen tube which has a fixed volume of hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide concentration is the independent variable.
4) Time how long it takes for the disc to reach the surface of the hydrogen peroxide. (Because catalase breaks down hydrogen peroxide into oxygen, and this causes the disc to rise)
Please can anyone think of any improvements with this method!
