Hi, can you please put my mind at ease here and tell me if I will or will not be eligible for a maintenance loan, if I already have a degree, if I do nurse training?
I have tried the online calculator and I get the maintenance loan + long course loan if I include I already have a degree but I'm planning to study nursing and that it leads to a professional qualification.
Nursing doesn't come under 'professional qualification' though, so when I leave that out I'm told I need to phone the SLC. Does this mean I won't get the maintenance loan?
What is the income cutoff?
I am studying with the OU at present and had one year of funding for Portsmouth Uni.

If the course receives an NHS bursary then it is classed as an exception course so you would receive a reduced rate maintenance loan, even if you already hold an equivalent level qualification.
