I have an option to join an indepndant uni (not actually classified as a Uni) but a school of management, I meet the requirements for this as I dropped out of college and only recieved half of my qualifications.
I was wondering if:
I could go to this School, and make my own portfolio of every piece of work I complete, I work hard and achieve everything to the highest standard. If I didn't like the actual school thatt I could move to an actual Uni? taking all of my work to a uni interview. I am very capable of learning Computer Science and have already learned basics in a few languages. I just want to make sure I'm taught well and able to get a degree.
Ofcourse the other option would be to wait and go to college for another year on an access to HE course in computing but I feel I don't need this, although I'd be guarenteed a spot at a proper uni.. But it means waiting till september to start this and next september for uni..

I think you need to contact the Uni's you are interested in and ask them of your experience is relevant over the entry criteria.
If they say no then this might be because they need you to be able to write academically, if you haven't got evidence of this already, and also I suppose they have to be fair and assess everyone's application against the same criteria.
Approach the Universities and ask them where you stand - they might surprise you

You would need to contact the unis you're interested in directly and ask. It would depend exactly what qualifications you will get from this school. Different unis will consider qualifications differently, so you might find that some unis don't want you but that other unis would.
