Hey, I got an offer to study physics and astronomy (undergrad) from both the University of Edinburgh and Durham University. Academics wise, which is the better university, especially for this subject? And how much better?

P.S: I don't trust rankings that much, so personal views would be nice

Course-wise - Durham has a far better academic record and so you could expect far better facilities and lectures

However after speaking to my brother (who goes to Edinburgh) and having been to Edinburgh multiple times, I can confirm that it is one of the best cities I've ever visited, the whole atmosphere is superb; stunning views and walks, all in walking distance from the city center, plus the shopping and food is excellent.

After speaking to some Durham students they've told me that the uni is great albeit a bit too isolated, so it's up to what your in to I guess...
