in that much pain i could cry

To cut a long story short, I checked myself in at the local sexual health clinic a month ago, where I was diagnosed with what I knew I had, genital warts. As a mild consollation all the other tests for chlymidia etc came back negative. Anyway I was prescribed the usual treatment, aldara cream. Now, I've used it by the book, and indeed the wart (yes, there was just the one thankfully) has disspeared to the point of where you cant even notice it. However, four days ago, around the same time that the wart truly retreated, the skin on my foreskin has become extremely enflammed, with some areas of the foreskin turning a whitish colour and hardening, having a blister like quality. When I go for a pee it feels like an acid bath (as was described by another sufferer on a medical health site). Basically I'm constantly on painkillers, trying to drink as little as possible to go to toilet less times in the day. It hurts when I wear jeans, I can't run, and basically I feel like bloody crying because it's constant pain. The pain has sprang out of nowhere when the treatment was going sowell.Anyhow I have booked an appointment for 2 weeks with the same clinic to see whats going on. Why am I telling people on here? Well for a start its comforting to be able to talk to someone when there is nobody else I'm willing to share this with. The other reason is if anybody has gone through the same thing, I am desperate to know how long these blister like qualities are going to go. Grizzly topic I know. Some lessons are learnt the hard way and oh can I vouch for that. Any feedback appreciated

My friend had genital warts so bad that apparently she had to go back the clinic every week to have "more frozen off". Correct me if I'm wrong but apparently it's in your blood for life, and although the virus lays dormant most of the time, the warts reappear at random, which is the time you are contageous. (??)

She recons she has to tell every sexual partner she has that she is infected (who said romance was dead??) so the correct precautions can be taken. :s-smilie:

I feel sorry for you dude, I hope you know where (or more appropriately "who") it came from..

some elements of that are true. it depends on the type of virus, some treatments can actually destroy the virus, some merely get rid of the visual elements. a lot of people have it without having any visual symptoms. think im going to go in this weekend for a bit more info.

Good luck with that hun.

surely it'll hurt more when you pee if you don't drink much, as your urine will be acidic?

I'd say drink lots of water and avoid alcohol/caffine/fruit juice.

You could ring NHS Direct and find out if it's serious or not - it could simply be a side-effect of your treatment. On the other hand you might need to get to a doctor right now.

Emergency doctor tomorrow?

Now you know to have unprotected sex! Or at least make sure your partner is clean.

However, I feel for you

Maybe the blisters are more warts...???

Anyway, get checked out ASAP. Definitely don't wait two weeks.

Rather crucial word missing, I think.

This might help. It appears the blistering is still a symptom of the disease, so keep applying the cream!
