i applied last year to kings, got 17.1. my mate got 16.0 he got rejected w/o interview, a girl i met at interview got a few point lower than me, and she got in! i dont think there is an average safe score like with oxford.

I think alot rests on the essay - its more how you think in that that matters. Because they will assume to a degree that everyone knows the GCSE basic stuff - even if you cant use it. so get a decent mark on section 1+2 and a good essay. Just as a benchmark UCL are guranteeing a interview to applicants with 19+. - so I hear :biggrin:

Well last year I had a terrible essay, but my Section 1 and 2 were good...! Ended up in an offer, and I think quite a few other people who had terrible essays but good Section 1 and 2s got in as well...

I wouldnt worry to much about the essay for cambridge,
i was under the impression that they didnt actually give a mark to the essay and only used it on some occassions at interview.

so try to focus on section 1 and 2 although there is no 'safe' score and i dont think cambridge take it into account as much as some of the other BMAT unis :smile:
