    I have a question. The down syndrome. You would think those who have it are missing something. But ACTUALLY they have a bigger number of chromozomes. I don't get it.... Shouldn't they be superhumans or something?
    NOTE: this is a genuine curiosity, I do take illnesses very seriously

    No its because the extra chromosome leads to an over-production of a type of a protein called an amyloid. This deposits in the brain and causes all the problems.

    Totes understand you! I see them as superhumans. People with illnesses do the most incredible things and live life to the full than the ones who don't. That's what I think. :rolleyes:

    Not what I meant. Of course it is incredible that they overcome their condition. But I was speaking purely from a biological/physiological point of view.
