Now do you want to tell me why you are being left out? Do you have any good friends? I'd say that if you've never been to a party at 16 you better start soon.

everyone is going to parties and clubbing. im 16 but i look really young, i want to socialise and stuff but ive never been to a party at a mates house or something...am i really missing out?
i feel so socially inadequate

No, to be honest, all you're missing out on is a load of people who call themselves your friends but would happily slit your throat for a "shag off a fit bird" making arses of themselves and then being so drunk everyone forgets about it and finds it painful to blink the next morning. Not worth it.

Seriously, it's not worth it. If you're not the sort of person who's organising this stuff, it's probably not for you - sounds strange but it's true. The people who genuinely love that kind of night out enough to want to do it normally find a way to do it. I don't go to those things - I go through patches of being invited, and I decline them all, simply because nights like that generally end up (around your age and mine) with everyone getting pissed and falling over and being swept home, or the odd people who aren't pissed standing in a corner watching the other people make fools of themselves. I admit I have a jaded view of the whole scene, and it can be a lot of fun if you're with the right people doing the right stuff, but the fact that you're not getting invited means that you wouldn't be.

Edit: ooh, male or female?

I'll tell you what is fun.....watching everyone else get hideously drunk and doing stupid things that will make them cringe when you tell them in full technicolour the next day whilst you retain your dignity and a clear head.

Woops

Anyways if your friends don't go to aprties then what do you feel like you're being left out from? If on the other hand you do want to party but they don't then you're either going to have to try and change friendship groups or wait, because at around 17/18 parties won't usually have much in the way of invites as they'll mostly be nights out at the city or something.

Isn't the technical term for this "masochism"?

It can be. Not when you end up being the one person sober enough to control everyone and stop all your friends falling over and breaking themselves though.

I'd echo those sentiments except without the bruises part because I wear rapex, the anti-rape condom :yy:

Wise words from a wise man, working tirelessly in spreading the phenomenom of RAPEX, peace be with you.

Rapex available from all well stocked sex shops. It should not be inserted into the mouth even if you suspect you have taken Rohypnol

I feel a bit like you - I go to an all girls school and there is only one definite "group" that have house parties, etc. and go to clubs and stuff. They get so drunk it's not funny and try to "pull" anything that moves because they're so starved of males at school.
I used to think I was a right loser because I was never invited even though I knew some of them enough to warrant an invite in my own opinion!!
When i finally did go to the same place as them all I found was slags who got drunk on cheap tramp cider and boys not old enough to grow chest hair. Lets just say the illusion was swiftly shattered!!
I won't lie to you - you may just have to continue to feel left out until you mature or the lads around you mature, and then you'll be off. I just don't think there's anything admirable in getting wasted every weekend, doing all this stuff and in the end having no worthwhil friends. Your far better off investing your time in people who are still interesting when they're sober!!

Lol, my bruises were from silly accidents like falling out of windows, playing ratchet screwdriver and getting thrown through stair banisters, all innocent drunken fun!!!

My god it's like a utopia

PS. I disagree with some of the views on here, just because people get pissed every weekend doesn't mean they can't be worthwhile friends and it also doesn't mean they are boring when sober or anything.

Well of course parties are fun. But if ur not a party sorta person u probs wouldn't have fun at a party. Not for shy ppl really, more for getting pissed and shouting a lot.
