Intention: To build a join industrial zone on the site of Nicosia International Airport in Cyprus. The aim is to find a long-term solution to a 40 year old problem which continues to require a UN peacekeeping force.

Reasoning: The airport ceased operations in 1974 following the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. A buffer zone continues to remain with a UN peacekeeping force based at the Nicosia International Airport. While withdraw of a peacekeeping force cannot be immediate, a join industrial zone will provide an economic boost to Cyprus while employing people from both sides of the island to help foster relationships. The UN peacekeeping force can slowly start to wind down its 40 year long operation when the industrial zone is operational.

SK believes that this thaw relations between the two halves of the island. We have a similar thing in NK, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaesong_Industrial_Region. It may have closed for a bit once, but it benefits both sides. As long you have the support of Cyprus, this is a good idea to start communication between both sides.

Austria is entirely positive that a measure capable of conciliating the end of a social conflict and economical boost is extremely beneficial, particularly in this situation, and backs Finland's proposal as long as a diplomatic and consensual approach is possible in the installment of such industrial zone.
