The actual exam papers (edexcel at least) are printed off so they form a booklet. aka A3 pages folded in half to form a booklet with two staples in the fold.

Not sure if that makes sense. :/

Tbh, just staple it normally (in corner) - too much hassle trying to print it off double sided properly etc so the booklet works.

Did plenty of maths past papers for my jan exam - they weren't stapled the same as the exam (the font was even shrunk to save paper!) but it didn't create any problems in the real thing.

    Hope this kinda helped.

Who cares if paper is 'wasted' if you use your school's FREE printing?

Just ensure that if you are shrinking them to below A4 that the paper doesn't contain any size-specific questions, i.e. some translation and vector questions I have seen not to work on smaller paper.
