What is the minimum age to work as a Sales assistant at the Cooperative Food? Watch

    Hi all

    I am thinking of applying for a weekend only sales assistant job at my local Cooperative Food, how old do I have to be please? I'm 15 am I too young?

    All answers will be helpfull thanks

    Also, If I am selected for interview, what questions am I likely to be asked?

    I have a CV and references.

    Pretty sure you're too young. I think they would hire you at 16, but even then because they sell alcohol etc you would require assistance every time someone would want to buy age restricted products. So you might be at a disadvantage if someone older was also applying.

    Nope, but I couldn't find anywhere to apply until I was 16. Even then, I had my first job at 18, despite how many applications I sent out.

    Pretty much all supermarkets or shops don't accept applications from anyone under 16.

    While in education you can only work a certain amount of hours each week, which is another factor that works against you when applying for a job.

    Thanks, other answers still accepted, I may apply and see what happens as it is only a 5hr weekend only job.
