I started uni about a month ago and I met a guy in the halls below me who I quite like. Our flat mates all get along really well so we go out during the week to various clubs and bars together. In the first week we chatted quite a bit and swapped numbers, but haven't text. His flat mates noticed we were "getting close" and "talking quite a lot" and asked him if he liked me to which he apparently blushed and mumbled something along the lines of 'yeah, she's alright'. One night in a bar his flat mates were trying to set us up and he put his arm around me saying "happy now?" to them, as if he had just done it to shut them up, but he seemed really awkward. He's a really shy person so his flat mate told me I'd have to make the first move, but there was a problem in that I'm very quiet and I was just getting over someone who had meant a lot to me.
That was about three weeks ago and since then every time I go near him he seems to walk off or if I try to talk to him he'll answer quickly and then do a disappearing act. I thought that meant he didn't like me back but I catch him looking at me when we're out and he shows off a lot with juggling things when I'm in his halls. Is he just being shy or does the idea of me being near him disturb him so much he feels the need to go away?
Any comments would be appreciated, even if this is a bit mundane.
