Hi guys, for as long as I can remember I have never bwen for an eye test, and I am 17 years old. My parents never took me. In the future I wanted to be a detective for the police, but you have to pass an eye test. As I am 17, even if I went for an eye test now and passed, it is possible that my sight could change once I have finished uni. I am worried that an eye test will ruin my chances. Two of my brothers have glasses.

I read a lot and spend a lot of time in front of the computer, but don't have to squint to see the tele.

What do I do? Can instill be a detective if I have to wear glasses and don't have 6/6 vision in either eye?

    Thanks

If you're that concerned just go and have a test. Stop worrying about things over which you have no control. You're a long way off joining the police right now, and it can't hurt to have a back-up plan just in case. I'm sure the police medical standards will be available online somewhere.
