Lower and Upper Bounds

I have a question from gcse test paper that I need help answering this is it:

The dimensions of a rectangle are measured to the nearest cm. It measures 13cm by 10cm. What is the smallest possible value of the perimeter?
44cm

Lower Bound of 13cm - 12.5cm
Lower Bound of 10cm - 9.5cm

(12.5 x 2) + (9.5 x 2) = 44cm
Lower Bound for side length 10cm = 9.5cm
Lower Bound for side length 13cm = 12.5cm

Perimeter = (9.5*2) + (12.5*2) = 44 cm :smile:
