So I just had my C1 and C2 mock exams at college (full 75 mark ones over 2 lessons) and I am currently doing AS Further Maths Yr 12. I did fine/average on my C1 test, probably got around 50/75 so not really worried there as I can easily revise more and do well in the proper exam. However, on C2 I did so poorly. Missed quite a few of lessons due to illness etc. so I missed content and on top of that I didn't do enough work outside of class. I think I've probably got around 40% if that.

My main worry is that will I be dropped down to normal maths A level? I don't really want to as I am perfectly capable, but only really got myself to blame. On top of that, I only got an A at GCSE for Maths so yet again something against me due to poor teacher and poor work ethic on my behalf (and overconfidence). My homework this year has been handed on time and usually receives >80% and I regularly contribute in class while completing questions set.

Will I have to talk to maths teachers/ head of year etc. on my current situation and will they drop me down?

I was thinking to say that I'd retake or they could monitor me etc. for a couple of weeks?

Unless you are really struggling, I doubt they would drop you down. Mocks are mocks and you've still got time to improve. Also, what's so bad about an A at GCSE maths?

Most of my class have A* in maths GCSE and looked sort of shows that I am not that 'intelligent' to begin with, if that makes sense.

I only got a B what does that make me look like?
Haha, but personally I think a-level maths is easier than GCSE.

Depends on your school. I highly doubt they would drop you due to one bad grade.

An A at GCSE isn't bad. I'm in A2 Maths doing AS Further with "only" an A at GCSE!
