White substance in soft palate.

I have no idea how to describe this so excuse me if I'm being incredibly thick, but I'll try.

I have a very small 'dent' in the back of my mouth, in the soft palate - so small you can't even notice it, really. But some strange white substance regularly builds up inside it, every 3-4 months or so. The 'skin' around it becomes slightly sore because it's being stretched and I end up having to get this thing out, which generally involves me poking around at the back of my throat and making myself accidentally throw up. I really have no idea what this is or whether I should be bothered by it - it's only recently that it's started actually getting stuck in my mouth, normally as soon as the stuff forms I just cough it up. It seems harmless enough, but it's really incredibly inconvenient to have sticking into my tongue and palate every couple of months without warning, and quite painful and disgusting to get out (as I've just had to do).

Any ideas what this is or what's causing it?

(P.S. the above post may have been upsetting to some readers and therefore should not have been read by anyone with a nervous disposition. :ninja:)

it could be tonsiliths if the stuff smells a bit rank http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/Forum126/HTML/003022.html
it doesn't sound exactly like it as in size and location, but it does sound like it's a build up of plaque and food debris crap which is what tonsiliths are. you could go and see a dental hygeinist or something?

It's like Great Britain doesn't have doctors anymore. Go and see your GP.

You know, that's possibly the most useful reply I've ever had to one of my threads. :p: Thank you.
