Is anybody here studying Carol Ann Duffy's 'Feminine gospels' for their English Literature course? If so, could somebody please give me some ideas/ inspiration for the analysis of 'The Long Queen'? Thankyou

I am! This really isn't one of my favourite poems in the collection but the general idea of it is based around 'The Virgin Queen'. The whole idea of her being immortal and reigning forever is representative of her legacy. There's quite a few mentions of women's biological functions in there too, just for good measure, so you can analysis those further into those. Also, some fairytale references too. Additionally, I read into Shakespeare's 7 stages of man...hence the 7 stanzas and each approaching different aspects etc. That helped me a fair bit. Hope this helped!!
