    Hey,

Me and a friend are planning to travel around SE Asia for a few months. I have a few questions to ask.

    1) Is a budget of around £4-£5k (without flights) enough?
    2) What visas would we need?
    3) What injections

    Thanks Guys

depends where and when you want to head. my and a friend are doing the exact same thing, and usually do every summer. we tend to go to areas that arent mandatory on injections. so best to find that out yourselves.

and again depends what countries you want to go to depending on visas. Thailand & malaysia you wont need one. cambodia you can pretty much get one on arrival. i believe vietnam its best to get one in advance. we will start planning as next summer approaches and we leave. so far we have just booked the flight. we have budgeted £500 per week. which really is plenty to be honest.

Budget more than £5K knowing the sort of antics the locals usually pull off....

You can get by on £20/day. You'd need visas for for most of the countries. Don't miss Laos! Get your malaria pills and TB injection.

I think £500 per week is a huge amount for SE Asia. That's about £70/day when you could easily get by on £15-30. Then again, this completely depends on what you're doing and where. The most expensive place in SE Asia is probably Singapore, which is in its own league and should probably just be avoided if you're a budget traveler. Elsewhere, about £20 a day is plenty. (Supposing you won't be living in hotels and beach resorts all the time.)

Then again, it's better to have too much money on hand than not enough. You don't have to use up all your money, but it's less stressful to travel if you know it's there. I'm just saying that even if you didn't have as much, it shouldn't discourage you from traveling.

£500 a week? In SE Asia? You can get a hostel for £3, food for £3 and beers for £0.50.

What you planning to spend £500 a week on? A new phone and 5 star hotels?
