Has anyone done an essay action plan?

I am doing a access to higher education course and I have to write an 'action plan in which you outline a strategy for researching, planning and preparing the selected assignment for the unit. Identify the necessary stages from start to finish and indicate the anticipated time span'

So do I have to include actual research, because I haven't done any yet? How many pages would this take up and what should the layout look like? Does anyone know any sites with an example action plan?

Any help would be appriciated, thanks!

It says "outlines a stategy for researching", so to me that doesn't mean you include the research, it means you note down how you would do the research, what materials you would use and so forth.

I have never done one of these though so I could be talking rubbish.

NAh, it sounds about right.

Never done one either, but I think that, like SexySax says, it's just saying how you're going to go about researching and planning and writing the essay.

It sounds a bit like the thing you have to fill in for A2 History C/W...we had to say what the question is, what other questions arise from this, what we will research, what books/websites we'll use, what aspects of the question we'll look at etc. Then you additionally have to plan when each stage will be done by. So I'd guess something like (say you have 6 weeks)
Week 1: Preliminary research and reading
(Names of specific Books, websites, sources etc - maybe start with overview / more general ones)
Week 2: Further research, essay plan completed
(Names of more academic books and articles, and maybe a sample essay plan like Intro: Para1: Para2:??)
Week 3: First Draft

etc etc....

This could be totally wrong, but that's how I'd go about it.
