Hi guys I know this has been posted on here before but I am looking for someone to answer who is or knows someone is an airline pilot. Do you need A levels to become an airline pilot. Looking on the internet most people say you do but isn't that just for a better understanding of the training(thats why they say take maths and physics)? I am not enjoying sixth form and I have already started my training so I would rather get a job full time so I can fund my training rather than waste my time getting qualificatiosn thAat I don't need. My flight instructor said he has A levels but he said I dont need them, and that he got an E in gcse in science. I just want to hear that I dont need A levels from more than one person

You don't NEED A levels in some cases, but the level of knowledge you have to work with as an airline pilot is at least first year undergrad level. If you haven't even got A levels, then any company employing you would be taking on a great deal of trust the fact you had the necessary level of academic ability. You might face having to build a heck of a lot more flying hours and experience to get to the same place without a bit more academic evidence behind you.
