Depends what and where and why

cant be that bad. but its up to you, anyone elses opinion on it shouldnt really matter

yep OP give us the reasons why you are considering plastic surgery and you will get the reaction on the reason there. So why do you want plastic surgery?

Reply 4

Yeah, what do you want to have done?

As for myself... I would get it done someday, if and when I thought I needed it. I'm only 22 now, so obviously there's nothing I've really felt I've wanted or needed to get done, but I'd consider all manner of stuff in years to come.

If it'll make you feel better about yourself, whatever reactions you get, do it.

nope, im not that ugly

i'm planning on getting my nose done and i've always wanted strong cheekbones so probably some cheekbone implants too, (they sound more extreme than they actually are.honest!). i will probably look markedly different after this and i guess i've been thinking abt how this will impact on my life in varying ways ie. say you fell in love with a girl. how would you feel if you later found she had had some extensive surgery? plastic surgery is like some elaborate lie i'll have to keep for the rest of my life, but it's so goddamn tempting!!!

anjurdsg-most people who seek plastic surgery aren't actually 'ugly'. they just dislike a particular aspect of themselves.

oh sorry. just to add- my reason for doing this is because i've always been pretty hung-up on my appearance. i'm not sure why since no one has ever given me reason to be really. i'm just perfectionistic i guess. i'm hoping the surgery will improve my quality of life.

well in my opinion plastic surgery for vanity isnt right. if youve never had a problem i dont see how it would give a marked improvemtn in life.
i suppose if you really hated it then thats up to you but thats just my opinion

Why is it wrong?

Why shouldn't people be able to pay to give themselves the same benefits that others are lucky enough to be born with?

this is how i feel. looks are important.

i know this will sound a bit arsey, but in terms of everything else, i'm fine- i got great grades, i've always found making friends easy and so i guess getting the appearance i want is the last thing for me to tick off.

if something isnt broke why fix it. why does someone need to feel perfect. you cant spend youre life wishing you had what others are born with.

like i said, just my opinion im not going to argue with you.

Maybe they just want to feel perfect. You still haven't explained why it's morally wrong. It's clear why you think it's a bad idea and only plays to your insecurities instead of helping you accept the, but why is it wrong?

You can't have everything, but if it's possible to level the playing field somewhat, then why not?

i guess some people consider it 'wrong' in the sense that it can be harmful to the recipient- both emotionally and maybe even physically. i know some religious people consider it wrong too- 'made in God's image' and all that.

the fact is that all these people who say it's wrong,( amd in some ways i agree with them if that makes any sense at all,) would treat me better if i looked better. that's the way of the world.

whats the point, you want to be perfect why? so you get noticed more, so you can look at yourself and say god im perfect. then what? notice something else thats not quite right. where does it end.

People are essentially shallow. It's very true.

Some people win the genetic lottery, others don't. That's life.

Again, that's pointing out why it's a bad idea for your self image and whatnot, but why is it immoral? What harm is being done to other people by it?

it's not even 'shallow' really. we are programmed to be drawn to beauty. it's symbolic of good things genetically speaking.

i don't think people who seek plastic surgery are much vainer than anyone else. i think sometimes they're just more pro-active .

looking at yourself and seeing a different face looking back is going to have an affect on you also chances of infection are very high.
i would say its immoral as such, but say you look just like youre mum and you have surgery because youre not happy like that, how would she feel.
