Pfft lol. Doesn't matter. I'd rather have the noticeboard! *geek*

Chris is wrong :p:

In the refurb rooms you have a full length mirror on the inside of your wardrobe door. So ner

Is it worth thinking about a fan? I'm on the ground floor and won't be able to open my window at night. Unless it's one of those cool windows that only open a tiny bit. I don't know. Even if it's a wide opening one I can imagine jumping out and running onto the lawns. Ooo I've thought of a game...

Noone would guess I'm going to be a teacher

:frown:

I've never really been in a refurb room. They have all sorts of nifty gadgets ! Still miles away from everything though.

Well I have a view of the tree from my window. I think. The famous tree, yay.

Reply 385

I now know the names of the people in my freshers group - excitement!

Reply 386

Any novelty or stupid ones?

Reply 387

Nope they all seem pretty normal :frown: I have F block, would've preferred B or E but you can't have it all!

I'm pretty sure all the windows in refurb rooms have those thingies on them which stop you opening them too far. Nice, but since I was on the 2nd floor then when it got really hot it was annoying, so we took a screwdriver to the little holdy on bit which allowed me to open the window fully. Yay!

Alex - F Block freshers are always the party group! Especially F1 for some reason - it has been for a few years now, so prepare for long nights and lots of drinking

Another question. Is there a fridge in the small kitchen things at Trevs?

Reply 390

Yep, one in every pantry afaik  some have freezers too.

Reply 391

Ooo, what else do they have in them? *sorry for questions*

Reply 392

Microwave, sink, cupboards and shelves, rubbish bins, and a hob if you're lucky :p: I'm wondering if postgrad pantries have ovens too. Only a week til I see them :ashy:

Reply 393

Hehe, hope yours have an oven.

Hmm *what to cook using a microwave and possibly one hob which doesn't involve ready meals*, ok, I know I am catered, but, what if I wanted a snack :P:?

Thanks for the information

Reply 394

Oh, yes, the toasties...one of the reasons I picked Trevs! Ok, problem sorted :p:

Reply 395

When I was at school I used to cook super noodles and I think I can see myself coming back to that for dinner at uni (I'm self catered).

They don't have the image of 'pot noodles' because you eat them out of a bowl not the packet.
Just as easy (can microwave them in your serving bowl).
Can create variations just by adding cheese or random stuff from the fridge. (better to add into a saucepan on a hob though)

...toaster, kettle!

And all pantries now have hobs, if you ever find yourself without one then someone has stolen it...just wander across to the next one and steal theres (teeheehee)

And there are LOADS of things you can make if you need to - I always had some cereal and milk for snacks and loads of tins of soup as you cna microwave that (as long as you have a microwavable bowl and either some cling film or are prepared to clean up the mess in the microwave afterwards, hehe)

Biggest tip Nicki: be nice to your cleaner - find out her name as soon as you meet her otherwise it'll get to that uncomfortable time when you can't ask her her name anymore as it's too late! But do things like keep your pantry tidy (not necessarily CLEAN, just tidy!) and make sure you prepare your room on the day it's going to be tidied (clear the floor and your sink area so they can hoover and clean it)....trust me all your niceness will come back to you on the day that you've made a horrendous mess and the cleaner will go "Oh don't worry love, I'll clean it up for you" or something like that

Reply 398

Thanks for that! Sounds like everything I need then. And I can think of plenty of things which just involve one saucepan to make.

Hehe, ok! As soon as I see her, I'll ask for her name  I presume you find out the day they'll clean your room  Thanks for all the tips!
