So ive got an offer for Trevs to so combined arts.Initially i was hoping to go to a larger college [ie.collingwood] because im very laid back, open minded, like to have fun be lazy, dance and drink.
Can Treveylan offer me the same kinda lifestyle or is it traditionally? Are the gowns compulsory on pain of death?

Hmm, it sounds to me like you have the wrong idea of Trevs, to be honest. There are formals every fortnight and you have to wear your gowns for them but that's about it. It's more laid back and happier in Trevs than it is in Collingwood.

Apart from when it comes to daffodills...keep away from the daffodils...

But yeah, although I don't know much about it, it does seem to be very laid back, and friendly compared to some other colleges. It's a small college, and hence a close community I believe, so...yeah. Don't worry about Trevs, it sounds like a great place

Do the majority of people in Trevs do sciencey courses?
I'm doing combined arts and scared of being surrounded by literal thinkers

All the colleges have quotas for different subjects to keep a good balance, so there won't be loads of science students or loads of arts students at any one college.

They usually send something in the post at some point after you get an offer.

Don't bring your parents -- the open day is supposed to give you a taste of uni life.

That's brilliant. ^_^

I got my confirmation for the open day back pretty soon after sending it off, though I can't remember quite how long.

Yeah, Eadaoin; parents are discouraged from coming to the open day, and I'm pretty sure it's only students who are allowed to stay overnight.

Hehe, I STILL need to book the open day...and trains. I expect I'll have to do the trains first so I don't send the letter then realise I can't get tickets for the train I planned to get...

But as it stands it looks like I'll be on my own on the train...everyone from my school seems to be going on the Monday/Tuesday one. I should be fine though .

Well I live near Nottingham and I think it would be a bit quicker to go by train, but my silly parents have decided that seeing as I'm going up there anyway they'll have a mid-week break up in County Durham somewhere for like, shopping and stuff...

I suppose it saves on train fares? Oh well I'm sure I'll see you all in college! Here's hoping to get a decent room.
