'Scar'? My skin hasn't touched anything.
For the past few months now I've noticed a line on my back. It's about 5cm long and half a cm in height. It's red and goes very slightly into my back. It looks like a scar but I haven't been involved in any back injury that I am aware of?
It hasn't been there since birth so what is it? Hardly going to rush to my GP over this as I doubt it's health threatening.

It sounds like a stretch mark.

Perhaps you scratched it or something when you were asleep.

Are stretch marks usually red? I have grown about 3 inches since the beginning of this year.

sounds like a stretch mark. they can be red or white, im not sure why lol

Stretch marks start off red, and then eventually fade to white. But I'm sure you don't normally have just one stretch mark.
Oh, so maybe it isn't a strech mark then. :/
