Could be easily identified by this so posting anon.

I was playing roller hockey in late August without pads (as I'm hardcore obviously ) and took a slapshot to my lower leg. A huge purple and green bruise with a red puck shape appeared almost instantly. Problem is there's still a pretty huge purple bruise on my leg now 4 months later and it still hurts a lot when I poke it. Is this dangerous? Have I caused permanent damage?

"after about 2 weeks, your bruise fades away" also says "it's probably best to talk to a doctor if a bruise isn't improving after 2 weeks".

and the NHS web site says: "Most bruises will disappear after around two weeks. If the bruise is still there after two weeks, see your GP."

It's definitely time to make a GP appointment.

I was badly bruised in a horseriding accident years ago and it sometimes still seems slightly off colour. Doesn't hurt or bother me in any way though. I guess these things take time to heal.
