How to get over someone.. feel sad everywhere I go reminds me of him. watch

I'm trying to get over a break up. I've secretly liked a man for 10 years and months ago I was just attempting to get over him when he asked me out. He is older and has had many relationships. We went for drinks everywhere and for days out to all the local areas but a week ago he broke up with me. Now everywhere I go I get reminded of what we did/me being happy and it makes me feel really low. I can't go anywhere that doesn't remind me of him as basically we went everywhere together and to all the local places I know. Even going in a shop reminds me of him and the times I went in with him.

Anyone nes else had this? How can I stop being like this and get over it?

Another thing is I suppose for 10 years I've always felt like he was there for me as he seemed to always look out for me in a way. But now we have had a relationship and he doesn't want to know me I feel like I have no one at all.

I'm in the same situation, although I haven't known the person for 10 years and I'm finding it impossible

Getting over someone is hard! Especially if they've been in your life for 10 years.

The only thing that will really make you get over someone is time. I know you just want to forget about it all right now, but this is part of you processing what's happened, no matter how frustrating it is. You have to be patient with yourself and just take each day at a time, as there's no magic fix for getting over someone.

When I broke up with my ex, I went out and tried to keep as busy as I could. Don't get me wrong, for a while he was all I could think about, but as time passes you start to move forward and it gets easier. When you're going through it, it feels like you'll never get over them, but you will! You're more loved and valued than you know, so don't be afraid to reach out to the people around you, and go get yourself involved in some fun stuff. Being productive with your time makes it a whole lot easier!
