Playing the piano is very good - it counts for both manual dexterity and as an extra curricular activity...you need to show you are well rounded so yes it will be fine!
you skipped a grade then? Im doing that with guitar I was meant to sit grade 5 last year but the dates didnt suit so im sitting grade 6 in march instead.
I'm in a similar situation. I play the flute and was wondering if i would be able to play an extract of a piece during interviews (If i get any). With the time limitations is it possible to do this? How else can I prove my skills?
LOL, i seriously doubt it! but you can go ahead and try. i think they'd be more impressed if you brought some piece of gcse dt or art coursework, or even better, some crowns from the dental technican.
urgh.. my intrvw is on 8jan and yet i still do not know how to answer that question. i do Malay traditional dance (which requires great ability of delicate hand movements) and bit modern dance. do they count? i thought dentistry is very much similar to dancing where u have to be precise i.e ur hand n legs have to move at the correct time and step. thinking of talkin bout playing video games (eyes and hands are workin together simultaneously) urgh.. just hate the hand dexterity question

lmao, they'll just laugh at you and say 'nice joke' and ask you same question but in a more serious tone... either that or just tell you to get out! :P
hye y'all! i went to a dental polyclinic here in Malaysia just to have a clearer picture of dental health system in my country. The staff nurses as well as the dental officers(dentists) told me that they've been trained to sharpen their MD through activities like bending wires into right-angle, triangle , circle and and many other shapes and angles, and drilling the plastic according to certain patterns. through these, you can learn to manipulate objects and learn to ease your hand skills.
hrm, playing musical instruments would really be a good example to relate with MD. As for me, I play French Horn, both B flat and F Horn. imagine in a single beat, you ought to technically do correct fingerings and follow the tempo but at the same time you put your heart and emotion to beautify the technical sounds. B-U-T-ful isn't it?
hahah, now i wonder how am I going to relate my pressed flower hobby to MD?
NO WAY should you say the video games thing-they'll just think your a lazy bum tbh! no offense. the dancing thing sounds ok though.
yea yea i know dat they'll say i'm lazy, not serious and stuffs. but what if i say something like "i also play video games.. bla3.. not dat i'm lazy, but i only play video games when i get stressed out, 1 way for me to relax. btw, i only play video games when i'm done with my homeworks" (yeah.. sure i do)
