How to get back into study-mood?

Could someone help me and tell what I should remind myself, or what I should do in order to get back to serious study mood, since I had some radical distraction in the past few days... existential feelings, extreme ups and downs, rare new experiences etc. and I'm really with the head in the clouds, in a dreamy mood.

I need to wake up... zzzz

 :snoozing:

Well, keep in mind your goals and targets...Stick a note on your desk "IF I DONT READ I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PASS MY EXAMS/GOT TO UNI etc" for every time you get your head up!!!!lol

Keep reading or just study the bits you enjoy/are interested in.

I know what you mean- in fact, even though I welcomed the break; before this half term I couldn't help but think that it might make more sense just to have no break and to keep going with school, as I'd only just got into the routine of school again from the summer holidays.

I wouldn't point blank force yourself to revise/work, otherwise you'll probably just end up getting bored or frustrated and not achieve a great deal anyway. Start off with a small task- for example if you need to do an essay for one subject, write some notes in another, and do a few questions in a different one; then maybe start with the questions first, as they're probably going to be more straightforward than the essay. As you get back into it, then start to do more; but remember to keep taking breaks and do something ou enjoy in between to motivate you.

Ooh, and also- get a decent night's sleep. If you go to school/college/work without having slept a lot, then you'll probably feel less alert and you won't be able to concentrate.

Good luck- I hope it goes alright!

Yeah I think that's the way to do it. Think about how you'll feel if you don't get the grades you want.

well there's a smart idea i may need to take on
Also you could create a study guide/planner in a poster format. Stick in on ya wall and use it as like a to-do list

I've had this problem recently but managed to wake myself up in the last couple of days threatening myself with not going to uni.
The only cure for it is to just throw yourself in at the deep end. Start with a difficult task and once you've completed that, everything else should be shorter and require less effort therefore you are more motivated to do that piece of coursework / essay or whatever.
