I've ordered a mobile off mobiles.co.uk on a 24 month contract - and my credit check got declined by the service provider. As a result my order was cancelled. Has this happened to anyone before? Can I go on a contract without having a credit score?

Try getting your parents to use their cards.

If you haven't got a history of regular large payments like rent/credit card bills/utility bills coming out of your account, you haven't got 'history'. Providers are unlikely to give you a £600 phone without seeing evidence of large regular payments unfortunately. Some students get by fine, others get rejected. It is by no means unusual.

Try getting a cheap sim only contract first.

it's not unusual. Normally parents take out the contract. Giffgaff dont require a contract but you can buy monthly "googybags". You'll soon build up a credit record.
