I have always (yes, really) wanted to be an artist in some way: a writer or musician. However, no one seems to be supportive of this, so should I simply accept my offers for university this year?

There's nothing stopping you being an artist of some kind, but the fact is, most people who are have to do a day job as well to support themselves, and also to afford the equipment they need to produce high quality work (especially if you're a musician) and of course, you have to have the skill there.

Are you already musical? Can you play anything or sing? My advice would be to find some open mic nights in your area/uni area. Its a really good way of connecting and networking with other talented, musical people.
