Dizzyness

Ok just wondering is this of any concern?
For qiute some time I would feel really dizzy and lose balance often resulting in embarrassment but it usually only happens hen I am at home. but more recently its more frequent and my whole body starts going fuzzy of tingly I don't know what causes it. Also sometimes I start to find it difficult to speak whilst I am feelin dizzy. Nearer the end I would get a massive headache near the eyes.
Is this anything serious I'm seventeen and eat well usually. and they can last from only ten seconds to the max of five minutes.
Only once I have lost consciousness. not for long but still was unconscious.
Any help is greatly thanked .

You might have low blood pressure. I saw my doctor cos I fainted one time and had also been feeling dizzy and thats what it was.

ok cool is there any other way to tell whether this is the cause though?
I used to have something like that but no pain/headache or anything, i used to feel really dizzy and felt like i was gonna fall down but only ever for like 5 sec. But it stopped now

I get like that when I'm dehydrated.

I drink plenty of water and I do fall down. I lose complete balance and my little sister saw it once and she said to me why you fall and roll on floor? I was apparently rolling around on the floor trying to stand back up. IO have fallen very regulsr once injuring my back slightly.

I would go to the doctors. It sounds like something of concern to me.

NOT that this is the same for you, I'm sure what's wrong with you is just blood pressure or something so don't take this as a diagnosis or anything, but my dad's friend had similar symptoms and he died of a brain tumour two years ago. Like I said, that isn't anything to do with what you may have, but there is no harm in getting it checked right? What have you got to lose?

Ok I may be going to doctor tomorrow about depression so might as well bring it up then
I have low BP and get the same problems (not to the same extent). Go and see the nurse or doctor to get your BP Checked (I believe some chemists do free BP Checks now)
I have the same problem, it's almost certainly blood pressure related. You may have hypotension (low BP), or postural hypotension (low BP upon elevation), or it may be a type of vasa vagal response. It should be checked outby the doctor and you may well have to do a 24 hour ECG test to rule out cardiac arrhythmia. Also, keep a note of what happens when you have these turns, what you were doing at the time, anything unusual, any sensations, etc. Particularly note if after you recover you experienced any memory loss, you were particularly flushed/warm, you felt tired or worn out, or if you lost any bladder control, as these are important things the doctor will need to know.

lol thanks for that, you sure know how to make someone worried lmao. She has a hell of a lot more chance of it being something else then it being a tumour.

I said that it wasn't likely to be a tumour!! I was very clear about that. But worst case scenario?! And if she isn't aware of what *could* be wrong, there is no motivation to go to the doctor.

I honestly didn't mean to worry you OP, just to let you know my personal experience of something like this. My money is on blood pressure anyway.

Worst case scenario? I got a headache, should I be thinking of that?

I don't like the sound of the rolling about on the floor too much, specially if you needed someone to tell you that (And so don't remember doing that, forgive if I'm jumping to conclusions).
Mention it at the doctors. You'll get something sorted out.
Reply 14
No. You should be thinking 'I need to drink less, then I wouldn't feel like this in the morning'.

Doesn't apply to the OP though.

Sounds like blood pressure to doctor blot. I used to be on medication that caused a similar thing.

There is no way anybody here can tell what is going on just by your descripton.

Edit:
Afterthought - you mention depression: are you taking any medication for that? These pills can cause what you are describing.

I reccommend going to a doctor's asap, if only to set your mind at ease. There will be a few things he/she will want to do and know, maybe you can think about some of the answers now and thus be prepared.
I guess he will ask things like:
How long is "for quite some time"?
What happens exactly when the situation comes on?
When does it happen? (in the mornings, any time of the day)
Have you had any kind of blood loss/ infections in the last 6 months.....?

He/she will take a close look at you, take your blood pressure, take some blood, ought to do an ECG as well and check your neurological status.

There are many possible reasons for what you describe: low blood pressure, anaemia of diverse cause, cardial arrhythmia and more. Only a doctor can find out what it might be. It does sound like something that should be looked into.

If you get a pain in your head near your eyes that could be eye strain. Do you read a lot or have trouble reading or just generally working too hard lately?
