Do not pop any spots. If you have to itch, use tissue paper to do it. Impetigo is so contagious that you can literally touch your chin and then touch your forehead and suddenly you have it on your forehead as well. Use the cream on all the areas that you have it. But whatever you do, don't scratch. You will end up covered in it.

Impetigo...how lovely!

Bring on all the infections due to living together with loads of other people. and using low temperature washes in communal machines and sharing bathrooms...ring worm, verrucas, athletes foot, impetigo, hand foot & mouth disease, molluscum contagiosum, diarrhoea & vomiting, head lice and meningitis......

I had impetigo and the antibiotics and cream did nothing for it, but I had a bath with tea tree oil in it for a week nd that got rid of it perfectly.

Someone forgot to take their happy pill this morning. :p:

Impetigo is the devil for spreading, whatever you do; don't touch it, then anywhere else or anyone else.

Reply 7

Yes! Do NOT touch anyone else. I was quarenteened (sp?) when I had it! My mum pretty much locked me in my room. I was 12 at the time and have lasting psychological trauma from being shut in

Remember to use separate towels and blankets and everything. It is extremely contagious so keep everything to yourself

I got it on my upper lip when I used to kiss my dog on it's nose, it was rather embarassing and I had to lie to the doctor saying that I didn't have a clue how I got it. I knew I got it from the dog though.

A lot of them are little kids, who you can't really stop from touching the rash. Ouch.

And if you've got it on your arms, yes, use the cream. It'll help stop it from spreading further.

I had impetigo earlier this year...caught it, I think, from a cleanser from Lush which had obviously been opened and touched in the shop before I bought it. I chanced it despite the fingerprints, and all I can say is don't do it, kids. *shudders*.

Once I'd stopped it from spreading it cleared up really quickly. And I second the bath with tea tree oil.
