Manslaughter or Murder? Need help with this quick question please watch

    So if someone intended to cause GBH and the person ends up dying. Is the defendant going to end up as murder or manslaughter?

    Murder as intent to commit GBH is sufficient for murder.

    UK Law - Manslaughter and a slap on the wrist, suspended sentence and a career on TV earning 2 Million a year.

    Manslaughter tends to be self defence.

    If you beat someone up (i.e. intend to harm/injure) and they die as a result it's murder.

    You can only be committed of manslaughter if you have sufficient defence e.g. diminished responsibility or loss of control..so may relate to the mental health of the defendant or an act being committed in the heat of the moment.
    Murder usually would be the answer I think unless a defence is presented.
