    Hi there,

Here's a guide on UCAS similarity detection which could help you to understand what has happened.

Have you received offers since the email from UCAS? If so, then it looks like that's fine and you can disregard UCAS's email.

If you truly have not copied anything from your personal statement, then you're fine. It's always better to admit that you've done it than to be found out otherwise (just adding this in here as a precaution).

    Thanks,

The UCAS software will also notice closely matched sentences, so it may be that you've taken ideas from somewhere and not changed them enough to make them seem unique to the UCAS software.

Alternatively, is there any chance that someone could have copied your personal statement?

A 45% match is very unlikely to have happened by chance. Have you viewed the report, which I believe can be accessed through track.

However, universities can chose to disregard this information, so that might be why you are still getting offers.
