Does my friend have an ulterior motive? watch

So there's a guy that I've been friends for a year now, I often vent about my relationship to him because I want a second opinion, as sometimes I think I am overreacting. Moving on..
Now things seemed to be okay until I had a feeling recently that something was off about him.

We hangout a lot, people think we're together because they see us more often than with others. I see it as a friend thing, but he always jokes about us eventually getting together. Then he also mentions, you could hang out more with me and if more people see it, then the people who have a crush on you will back off - because they think I'm your boyfriend.

He knows I'm taken, yet the way he says some things makes me think otherwise. Is it just me or is there something up? And if there is, what can I do about it?

I think he likes you. I think you enjoy it!

I wouldn't say I enjoy it as this means we can't ever be friends again

Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
